Greetings:

My name is Keith Samolyk and I am a practicing perfusionist who started a company called Global Blood Resources LLC (GBR) and Patented, developed and now have brought to market a Hemoconcentrating Reservoir called the HemobagTM that can be used with any Hemoconcentrator and Salvages Blood from any Extracorporeal Circuit quickly while still keeping the circuit primed for security.(The key is that it is concentrated autologous whole blood made available quickly).

I would like to bring you up to date as a lot has happened since we last talked. First and foremost the Hemobag has been cleared by the FDA and is now being used clinically in 12 centers in the US in just over a month. Secondly Amsect (the leading perfusion organization globally) is about to feature an article about the Hemobag and GBR in its November issue of Amsect Today to coincide with the Emerging Technology meeting that is happening next month in Cancun. I would like to share similar information with you as well with the hope that you might give it some international exposure ("what's new") about this quick and easy way to save concentrated autologous whole blood. Thirdly International Blood Plasma News also has run an article about the Hemobag in its September issue (pg. 12 under new products) that I will attached for you in a free to use PDF format to review and decide whether you have an interest in giving the Hemobag some exposure to the guests that visit your site. I am in the process of having 5 centers collect data for publication and you would also get a copy of this as soon as it becomes available. Right now everything is very strong with efficient recovery times from CPB circuits of around 10 -12 minutes from the time you start to the time you give Anesthesia back between 750-1000 mls of autologous Whole Blood with Hct's in the 55% range for reinfusion and it can be used with Witness patients. Lastly I have developed a Rollout Article that I will submit to the press in various formats for exposure to the Cardiovascular, Thoracic, Anesthesia and Perfusion communities and markets and I will attach a copy of this as well.

As you can tell I very excited about this, because it has been almost 8 years since I first started this project and it is finally becoming a reality.

Press Release

THE HEMOBAGTM, A NEW DEVICE TO SALVAGE WHOLE BLOOD

Global Blood Resources LLC (P.O. Box 383, Somers CT 06071)
has obtained FDA clearance to market its New Blood Salvaging Device
(The HemobagTM and TS3 Tubing Set). The HemobagTM salvages autologous whole blood from any extracorporeal circuit and doubles the use of existing hemoconcentrators, while keeping the security of a primed circuit at surgery’s end.

The HemobagTM is a universal reservoir that is filled in the surgical field off the arterial line at the end of cases that use an extracorporeal circuit. In just a short time the 2.0 liter HemobagTM reservoir can be reduced to its final product of richly concentrated RBC’s, platelets, clotting factors, albumin, and other plasma proteins.

For more information about this innovative and cost-effective blood salvaging device, visit www.mybloodfirst.com or call 1-800-942-9243. Learn how The HemobagTM can help save more autologous whole blood, combat hemodilution, and facilitate bloodless surgery.
