Jobs not requiring giving blood

I think you would benefit from looking at this link, although it isn't totally on point. It's at a website called AllNurses.com.
Caring for Jehovah's witnesses - Page 7 - allnurses.com Nursing for Nurses
A number of RNs posting on that site are Jehovah's Witnesses, who do not believe in the taking in of blood. A number of them probably work in hospitals, or have in the past, and might be good sources for information as well.
Also try this link, where a bunch of nurses list jobs outside the hospital that they love doing: Nurses who DON'T work in a hospital, what do you do? - Page 8 - allnurses.com Nursing for Nurses

LInks on AllNurses
Dear Lesa:
The site is exactly what it says: AllNurses. Nurses from any and everywhere are free to post there. The moderation of that site is not as strict as NoBlood where expressions of personal opinion are concerned. As with anything else on the web, one must sort out what is of benefit and what is not. There are nurses (as there are doctors, lawyers, and just plain folk) who find all kinds of things and people toward whom they are derogatory, including Jehovah's Witnesses. I am sorry if you became negatively affected by anything you read on that site.
The reason I included that particular link was to offer a source of nursing job descriptions that Witness nurses have chosen that do not involve the need to administer blood. I certainly would not recommend that site as a source of accurate information about the beliefs of Jehovah's Witnesses. There are nurses who post there who obviously are misinformed and acrimonious about Jehovah's Witnesses. As a nurse and a Witness myself, I don't particularly enjoy sifting through some of the obviously negative posts, but have done so on occasion to locate information on alternative nursing jobs that don't involve giving blood. Some nurses who are also Witnesses post helpful items there regularly, and it is strictly for these contributions that I use that site. It is one way Witness RNs have of encouraging one another. Occasionally, useful accurate information can be transmitted to interested posters, as well. But I certainly can understand your feelings, and appreciate your speaking your mind.

Hope you didn't think I was having a go at you that wasn't my intention & hope I haven't offended you. I just posted that comment to warn dear bro's that some of the links are not good & unfortunatley I had the misfortune of clicking on one of them, but never mind.

Thread to check out
swrightclrw, there is a thread on this site that may be useful...I think if you search for "offer input" it should pull it up for you. A student was asking what other JW nurses do concerning hanging blood. I remember there may have been a suggestion or two about where else you might be able to work and not be confronted with the issue. I think one of them may have been in a place such as a long term care facility? Hope this helps!

AllNurses
Dear Lesa:
I didn't think that at all. Your caution is certainly commendable. I was making a payment on American Express once and pressed the pay button only to be whisked off to a pornographic website! Who knows these days?
I try really hard not to take offense for inoffensive things.
Welcome to NoBlood, once again!
