Yes my friend you are right, because blood product transfusions sometimes cause transfusion reactions. There are several types of reactions and they vary in their severity. Some reactions may occur as soon as the transfusion is started, while some take several days or longer to develop.

While there is no specific training program for perfusionists in blood management, the AmSECT New Advances in Blood Management meeting has been an excellent venue for learning blood management techniques and methodology. The perfusionist is but one individual in the process which must be a total system, door to door concept in blood management. All physicians, nurses, perfusionists, lab personel, nutrition, rehabilitation and administration have to be involved in the blood management care of the patient to have this work. There are specialists like myself that offer services in training for blood management for each specialty and the total system concept with the application of blood management.

I have a couple of medical problems due to a blood transfusion I had, when I was a child. No matter what they say or do, they won't never be safe.

3/2/2008: TO HARRY 121: You have posted at the bottom left of your post that: "Phentermine is good". What does phentermine (a diet pill) have to do with no blood? Is there some connection you see? I don't see that phentermine could help someone going through a lung problem caused by taking a blood transfusion. Post if there is some connection please.
