Acute Shortage of blood is increasingly becoming a major cause of concern with Blood Banks in India. Despite nearly 5 million blood units donated each year, most of the licensed blood banks in the country still find it hard to meet the country's requirements which stand at a staggering 9 million units of blood and will only increase over time.
