For some reason, that doesn't surprise me. Giving blood is big business. And big business rules. Dead people cannot generate income for physicians and for hospitals. Not too many physicians care to be overly meticulous and would prefer a "blood backup." Good grief. How many physicians even wash their hands when entering into a patient's room. There are some that don't and hopefully you aren't the one reminding them. They really take this as a personal affront. I am not saying all physicians are like this but the few who are make it difficult for the ones who truly live by their values.
