Exclamation Plastic Blood?

Has anyone read about the new 'Plastic Blood'? I get a variety of articles sent to my email, and I got one that was very interesting indeed. Here is part of the post: May 23 - British scientists have come up with a revolutionary plastic product which could save lives around the world.
A type of artificial blood has been created after five years of research.
Scientists have combined a hollow, square-shaped molecule with iron to monomers that build together in a tree-like structure.
The result is similar to natural haemoglobin in size and shape.
I will post the address of the article here. I would be very interested to see if anyone has heard of this being used in patients that do not take blood transfusions. And its effect.
Thanks, RavenDove_JW

Plastic Blood

In the video report, it was stated that this substance "has not been used on any living creatures"; therefore, it apparently has not been evaluated in terms of actual ability to replace blood in any living system. We will no doubt have to reserve judgment until that has taken place and been reported on as well.
