Hi dana
My husband responded to you earlier and we both know exactly what u r going through. We tried the whole world with nothing coming back. Looking at it realistically, someone has to die for u to receive their heart and countries do not like giving to another national. This is not like a kidney where the donor stays alive.

Our problem is the reoperation scenario. Yes, they have done bloodless heart t/plants but not on a JW reoperation patient. Also, what we discovered is that drs in the US are held accountable for failed heart t/plants and can lead to their licences being revoked...this has happened before. So from their perspective, safe t/plants are the way to go. There is not enough hearts to go around so unfortunately, they play it easy. Also too, they have the moral obligation to the dead persons family as well to ensure the best possible outcome.

Try changing your search...
Have u looked at a double switch yet? If my memory serves me right, I think Dr Mee pioneered this.

There is great inroads into ventricular assist devices, have u tried this yet? This operation is higher in blood loss than a t/plant but seeing as it is your llife at risk a good ACHD team may take u on.

I presume u r on beta blockers and ace inhibitors? Our son also has acupuncture to strengthen his heart and this too has helped.

Contact us anytime.
