Are there any Jehovah's Witness patients who have had experience with surgery at Kaiser Permanente Hospitals in California? My sister needs a total knee replacement and is insured with Kaiser Permanente in California.
Her first knee surgery (which was not handled by Kaiser) and was done bloodlessly, resulted in anemia due to a rather large loss of blood.
(I believe her blood count went to about 6.7 at one point.) Now she faces a second surgery on the other knee but will have to have it done at a Kaiser Hospital. Anyone who has any insight to provide us before we start the process of finding a surgeon at Kaiser, willing and CAPABLE of doing this surgery, please contact us. My sister is 63 years old and not in especially good health.
