Question Cell Saver/blood salvage

I will be having spinal surgery in January. I am one of Jehovah's Witnesses and have survived breast cancer by asking questions, cooperating with my doctors and a will to live. I would like to know the details of how the surgery is done, is blood an issue, and a visual presentation if possible. The Orthopedic Surgeon asked if I would use a cell saver? I have some pictures from the Watchtower Society, but I would like more specific answers to how it would be used in spinal surgery. The surgery is L2-S1 posterior decompression & fusion with pedicle screws & iliac bone graft. I found one site that showed the surgery but it was an artists view. Is there a web site I could visit with more specific details? I would like a visual look at the cell saver in place and if possible in use.
