Percutaneous Pulmonary Valve Implant
Hello.. I was wondering if anyone has any information on Percutaneous Pulmonary Valve Implant. They are suggesting that my husband (who has NO pulmonary valve) gets this procedure done as it will be less invasive and require less risk of needing a transfusion. I was wondering if anyone knows where to find information on this procedure. I know it is in experimental stages and not yet approved by the FDA (only for sympathy cases - like my husband). I also heard there are surgeries of this type done in Toronto, Canada. Thought someone might have known of people that have had it done and how much is involved. How high is the risk of transfusion? How is the recovery process? My husband is doing fine right now, no problems. Just wondering if this is really necessary. Appreciate ANY help you might have. THANK YOU!
