Blood safety in Africa

I'm interested by the safety of blood in africa, where prevalences are high, financial ressource limited and structure not welle organized. Biologist and researcher, i think i know the situation of blood safety in africa but not immediate solution. Is there somebody interested by this problematic, for more discussion?

4/9/2008: Hello. I'm not sure I understand what you mean. The "prevalences are high" what does that mean? What do you need to solve? It would seem to me that with the high incidences of HiV in some regions, the blood would have to be shipped from another region to be transfused to those that accept blood transfusions. Are you interested as to whether no-blood
therapy can help groups in Africa? What groups specifically? 21stCentury. end message.

Clearly

Thank you for your reply. I think that my bad english is the cause of these incompletes sentences.
High prevalences of transfusion transmitted infections (TTI) in Africa are not a new information. The lack of organisation, financial ressources and sufficient benevolent blood donor coming from low risk population are not also new in Sub saharan Africa. These are some reasons of a high residual risk of TTI. What is not known are solutions for safer blood in this context. Some exist but need to be evaluated. Do you have ideas and have they been evaluated?
