Medical team stress the possibility of requiring blood transfusion during an operation for peritoneal dialysis access. I understand that all operations are risky and may require alternatives to blood transfusions if patient refuses blood but I don't quite understand why the surgeon desperately insists that a blood transfusion will likely be required for this kind of surgery. All patients that underwent such a surgery that I questionned told me they were never faced with this kind of pressure and no blood transfusion was required or administered.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Good day,
