• Hemodilution

    A procedure whereby blood is removed from a patient immediately before surgery and replaced with a nonblood volume expander. This reduces the loss of red blood cells during surgery. After surgery the collected blood is returned to the patient.

      I am wondering with this procedure when they take the blood out is it then stored, until after surgery?
