Financial and Patient Tracking

I am in the midst of setting up a new program.
The program I was at before NEVER tracked the
patients and the cost/reimbursement etc.
We here at SCH we want to do
this however we seem to be in a
quandary as to how to best track
these patients to determine if this is a
viable program. Any help/suggestions
would be most appreciated.
Even a name of someone to call at your
institution would be helpful at this point.

Dear Jan,

I want to introduce my company (Web site at www.gylinc.com) to you and other coordinators out there who have the same questions.

Our Web site (particularly www.gylinc.com/bms3.htm) will help you get a good concept of how our one-of-a-kind software tool-BMS3 can be the answer that you are looking for. It runs on a desk top or a lap top PC and is easy to use.

BMS3 is designed to help a coordinator accomplish most, if not all of his/her day-to-day tasks in one place thus helping them be organized and in turn more productive. It will help you in analyzing your finanacial and clinical data for reporting and business planning purposes.

You will see the list of my client hospitals who are already taking advantage of the software.

Please write me at gil@gylinc.com or my associate at summerv@gylinc.com with any inquiries. Or call our direct line at 201-788-1032.

Thanks,
Gil Lee (GYL Consulting Inc.)

Patient tracking

Your hospital's informational services department should be able to create and spool the information you need to properly track, collect and analyze data. Something to consider: by 2007-2010 hospital reimbursement is going to be based on outcomes. Therefore, looking at mortality, readmission, distribution by DRG, and complication rate are important measures that could prove beneficial for your program.
