I am not a physician but I have been involved in bloodless healthcare for the past twelve years. I will give you an opinion based on my limited experience.
As far as I know there is no medical school that offers a degree in bloodless surgery. One must become a surgeon and then make the commitment to offer services without the use of blood transfusions.
Unfortunately, in order to become a surgeon you must accept the part of the curriculum that teaches the "appropriate use of blood transfusion therapy". The appropriate use of blood transfusions is very subjective. That is why after fifty years of blood transfusion therapy there are no universal standards as to when to transfuse. Physicians are just now coming to terms with the need to create algorithms that identify appropriate blood management. Perhaps someday medical schools will offer instruction on appropriate blood management (including the use of oxygen delivering compounds and recombinant growth factors) integrated into the treatment therapies. Until that time, becoming a surgeon that uses absolutely no blood would be a very daunting feat.
For more insight into this matter I suggest talking to a local surgeon. You can no doubt find one willing to take a few minutes to speak with you.
