Question Does the cell salvage machine operate only in a continuous circuit?

Can anybody tell me if the cell salvage machine operates only in a continuous process, and if not:
When would it not operate in a continuous process
what medical procedures would it be used for not in a continuous process
how often it would be used not in a continuous process

Thanks!

Cell Saver

The cell saver devices and acute normovolemic hemodilution can be configured to maintain a continuous circuit to adhere to Jehovah's Witness requests.
