My new question then is in the closed cicuit system of the acute normovolemic hemodilution, is the blood collected first and than kept, and then "trickled" back into the patient, even though it is in a closed circuit? In other words, does the procedure involve the storage of blood even though it is in a closed circuit and "resembles" venous flow?

Continuous ANH

The answer is yes, but you need to configure the circuit. I invented a device called the Virtual Venous Reservoir, that actually does this automatically. Unfortunately, the interest in the blood conservation community for this is "mute."

So there isn't enough interest in this device? Does that mean that it is not widely known or used, say perhaps in Canada?

Anh

Yes, that's true. I don't see a lot coming out of Canada nowadays on ANH or for that matter anywhere in the world. Interest seems have waned internationally.
