What is the reason for the blood count dropping?
From internal bleeding
Have they stopped the blooding and what is the patient stand on blood fractions?
She will accept blood fractions. Shouldnt the first step be to stop the bleeding. At the moment I am unaware of condition.
The source of bleeding should first be determined. There are many sources of internal bleeding. Can be upper gastrointestinal bleeding (UGIB) from peptic ulcer or esophageal varices due to liver cirrhosis (or other causes) or lower GI bleeding as in colonic tumor, diverticulum, hemorrhoids or even amebiasis. In females, internal bleeding may be due to uterine fibroids or myoma. Medications like tranexamic acid may be used to stop the bleeding.
The blood count can be raised with the use of oral or intravenous iron like iron sucrose (venofer)with or without erythropoietin. However, the source of bleeding should be found and corrected.

I have been HLC for 20+ years. I was also a pharmaceutical rep for 30Yrs. There are many complaints about side effects of oral ferrous salts. There is a product that will do the job without the usual side effects. Brand name is NU-IRON 150 caps, or NIFEREX 150 caps. It recently became available as a generic, polysaccharide iron complex. It is an OTC product but is usually kept behind the counter because of cost.
WE had a 15 yr old girl with severe flow of blood and needed a D&C. The local Humana group refused surgery with out blood. WE fought Humana all the way to their home office and finally we used the expression "Religious Discrimination" and received approval. However, local docs still refused. This all took time and count was dropping. I told father to 'bite the bullet' and finance operation or his daughter could die waiting for insurance approval. Just before this she started on NU-IRON 150 T.I.D. After 4 weeks we foun a willing DR. Her blood count had risen to 15!!, inspite of the heavy, heavy flow.
LOcally, we have been recommending this product and experiencing very good results.
Sisters that can not tolerate iron do very good on NU-IRON generic.
Enough of the soap box. It works. You may have to have pharmacy order from wholesaler.

What can be done for esophageal and stomach varices caused by liver cirrhosis? What is the emergent care needed for rupture of the varices (clotting factors?) and is there any prevention? (Minor fractions OK.)
Esophageal varices - Definition
By Mayo Clinic staff
Serious liver diseases such as cirrhosis can cause a number of complications, including esophageal varices — abnormally enlarged veins in the lower part of your esophagus, the tube that connects your throat and stomach.
