transfusion alternative in SCD
I have been working in the eastern region of Saudi Arabia for the last four years. there are lot of cases of transfusion dependent SCD cases seen here. Never any patient has refused blood transfusion, but sometimes we have patients for whom to find a compatiable blood is difficult due red cell alloimmunization. An alternative to transfusion would be best for them. Please if any one can advise in this regard

There has been quite a bit of discussion about sickle cell disease in these forums. Go to the green menu bar at the top of this page, click on "Search" and type in "sickle cell". You will find much helpful information there.
