Treatment of people who don't accept blood transfusions
Hello. I haven't posted here yet. I joined about a year ago when my grandmother was experiencing a rare blood disorder and we were looking for treatment options. Sadly by the time her condition was correctly diagnosed so only lived for about another five hours.
The two main problems that led to her death was the fact that her doctors (oncologist specialists) diagnosed her with a blood disorder, but after hearing she wouldn't accept blood transfusions never did nothing more than monitor her blood cell levels. As a result, they failed to find that her blood condition was the results of intestinal cancer that eventually ate a whole in her stomach and intestine, causing her to bleed to death. Secondly, even as her condition was deteriorating and we asked what treatment could be done they told us nothing could be done unless we wanted to transfer her to another hospital that could do a bloodless bone marrow transplant (which wouldn't have helped anyways) and actually told us not to take her to the emergency room since the doctors there would only offer us a blood transfusion and nothing else. However, it wasn't until she got so bad that we had her transported by ambulance to the hospital that we found out what the true cause of her condition was.
Therefore, I was just wondering if there were other people out there who have heard of her doctors or medical group and their treatment of people who don't accept blood transfusions. She was being treated by the Redwood Regional Medical Group. Her primary doctor was Wes Lee and a few times she also see doctor Wayne Keiser.
Thank you in advance for any help you can offer.
