Fractions which are NOT made from blood

Hi, I am really keen to get involved with learning about alternatives to blood.
I know this is the place to get this information.

I am particularly interested in finding information on blood fractions which are NOT made from blood. I will look for the information on this site, but if anyone can help, please help
    by posting a reply.
    Thanks
    Liony

Hi Liony First, you need to understand that fractions are actually proteins that are found naturally in blood and which are transported around the body by the bloodstream to carry out various functions in the body. The vast majority of them fall into two basic categories: (1) proteins of the immune system (often called antibodies), and (2) proteins of the coagulation system (often called clotting factors). The first help the body fight disease, while the second help prevent or stop bleeding. A great many of these proteins are now able to be synthesized, that is to say produced outside the body by medical scientists or laboratory technicians, and are therefore not blood products. You have come to the right website to find out which of these products are available in a synthetic form. Start by going to the Search button on the green menu bar at the top of this page and, in the 'Search by Keyword' field, type the word fractions. The results will be listed by the most recent posts at the top. You could also do a search on the word 'synthetic' in the same way. I am sure that what has been posted in these forums will answer your questions.

Smile fractions which are not made from blood

Thanks. I did find two which are used in the UK, neither of which contain blood products.
