Question Stanate treatment for hyperbilirubinemia

Can anyone bring me up to date on the availability of Stanate (from InfaCare) in both the US and the UK? I understand it has been undergoing trials but have heard no more. Stanate, basically sn-mesoporphyrin, is a bilirubin inhibitor that has been around for some years now and has been permitted by US courts on compassionate grounds in the treatment of Jehovah's Witness newborn babies in the US with hyperbilirubinemia. It appears to be a very effective and successful alternative to exchange transfusion. Can anyone also provide information as to the cost and cost-effectiveness of Stanate?
