Thread: Low or 0 Platlet Count in CML

Is there any alternative Tx. for 0 Platlet Count. My son has been started on Sprycell, a drug that has been newly approved for treatment of CML. His platlet count has now dropped to 0 and he has been taken off the drug for a few days. Maybe someone out there knows of something else or perhaps there is no answer for this. They could try steroids if that doesn't interfere with the disease or medication and also Neumega which is similar to Procrit but it works on the platelets instead of the red cells. The most prominent side effect is fluid retention so they will be aware of that.
