Tonsillectomy

My 18-year-old daughter may have to have her tonsils and possibly adnoids removed. A sleep study has confirmed apnea, We haven't visited an ENT yet, but her Pulmonoligist noted that they are very large (they are!.)She has Down Syndrome--and large tonsils are a bit more common w/Trisomy kids.
I am researching procedures. Could someone tell me which procedures are less likely to bring about blood loss? I had been researching coblation (because it is reported to be much less painful) but have come across articles stating that the chance of blood loss is the same or greater w/this procedure. I haven't yet researched laser tonsillectomies. I wanted to arm myself w/information before I talk w/the ENT.

Any comments would be appreciated. Thank you
