Help for a friend

Hi, I have a friend who has a grandson just under a year old who has what she described as an internal port wine birth mark. (I donâ€™t know the medical term). He requires multiple blood transfusions as a result of the condition because it causes him to bleed internally and I wonder if there are any article dealing with the treatment of such a situation without blood.
