Can Spinal Fusion be done without Blood Transfusion?

I have severe spinal abnormalities and in the future I may have to undergo a complete fusion of my cervicle spine, I understand this to be a very bloody surgery. I am one of Jehovah's Witnesses, so I will not accept a blood transfusion. My neurosurgion told me that in my case they can use a cell saver. However this violates my bible trained conscience as I feel that blood drawn out and reinfused with the cell saver, as well as hemodilution, is no longer part of my body.
Could this surgery be performed without the use of these machines or blood transfusion?
How dangerous is this surgery without the use of these techiniques?
Please feel free to speak frankly about the risks, I am not afraid of the dangers of not having a blood transfusion or cell saver and hemodilution as my faith is strong in the resurrection of the dead as the bible foretells.
