Renal Vein Cancer

Recently my uncle was diagnosed with a tumor on his kidney which may have grown into his renal vein. This is most likely cancerous. I was wondering, since he may lose a lot of blood during surgery and we are JW's what are some subsitutes that he may be able to use. And for the cancer treatment I wanted to get some opinions on Proleukin. What is the best way to go about treating the cancer?
