Southernman is on a distinguished road
Placenta Previa

Outlining the situation.
A 33 year old woman who has one child by natural delivery
is expecting the second child and there are complications.

She presented with a uterine bleed at 9 weeks.
Bled again at 28 weeks - moderate hemorrhage for two & half days and was discharged after 5 days in hospital care .
She has now reached 32 weeks gestation.

A scan at 22 weeks confirmed marginal placenta previa, however, scan at 28 weeks displays placenta in anterior uterine position and therefore introduces extra potential risk during caesarean section.

Both mother and baby have strong heart beats, normal blood pressure and mother has almost normal hematocrit.

Patient has spoken with anesthetist who is 'understanding' and wants to assist with alternative non blod medical management
but who has not been involved with patients who desire bloodless procedures.

They had brief discussion about ANH and Red cell salvage.
I dont think they talked about abdominal aortic occlusion.

QUESTION
Does anyone know of a similar situation and surgical procedure.
The anesthetist is doing research and has invited the patient to do research with a view to meeting in a week. (25th Aug).
Thanks
