Credibility

Here's the deal. We don't know who you are as you offer no personal information at your public personal profile area. All I see is Tom Repka. Perhaps if you told us about your service etc. Are you an auto transfusionist? Perfusionist? Physician? You say they contacted you directly? As a tech or a company? I see you made one other post here at NoBlood. It concerned OrthoPat. Are you from that company? Etc...?

You are posting on a public site so it is important to establish credibility for your posts.

To check the credibility of your claim I researched the lawsuits and indeed found a couple of items that validated your statements. They were both about companies that developed, trademarked and sold a system for making platelet gel. In the Harvest suite the story said "treating wounds and other damaged tissue". Other damaged tissues? Perhaps any surgical site? Interesting.

One thing your comments have done is raise awareness and a red flag on this issue. I personally appreciate that and hope you continue monitoring and posting.

Thanks

A quick note on the lawsuit. Yes a court found in Cytomedics favor, however that was in a Illinois State District Court. While it does have affect the issue is far from settled. Two major companies are challanging in the Federal courts. This process could take years to resolve. I do not think that a federal court will up hold a claim on a naturally occuring body process. Again, however, this suit is against and defended by companies which make the equipment and dispoables and not those practitioners and institutions which use the equipment. I see little risk other than higher costs.
