Plavix

Plavix (Clopidogrel).

In the UK the standard has been to prescribe 75mg a day following angioplasty for 28 days. However, as has been stated elsewhere on the forum, latest recommendations indicate good practice in prescribing for a year following angioplasty.
Does anyone have any information, informed guidance etc, on whether or not there is a recommended "cut-off" time, i.e. should Plavix be discontinued after the year? Are there any contro-indications for using it for longer? If continued longer does it matter how long, does it depend upon condition, or are there no concerns?
