Complete Fusion of the Cervicle Spine without Cell saver

I have basilar invagination and may have to undergo a complete fusion of my cervicle spine. I understand this to be a very bloody surgery. However I am one of Jehovahs Witnesses and will not except a blood transfusion as you know. My doctor has told me that they can use the cell saver. The cell saver is left as a matter of personal choice for each Jehovahs Witness, most find it acceptable, but I am finding it difficult to view the blood flowing through this machine as still part of me (Once its out, its no longer a part of my body and should not reenter, those are my personal feelings)
So my question is, has anyone heard of a case of someone having similar surgery without the use of a blood transfusion, cell saver, or hemodilution? Most blood fractions are acceptable to me.
I am a 21 yr old Male. I weigh 115lbs. And I am 5'3" tall, I am not anemic.
Thank you. Caleb Nelson.
