Epidural vs General Anesthesia

As part of my wife's planned cesarean section on 12 Oct 2006, we have been offered a choice between the above methods of Anesthesia.

We have been informed that GA is easier to use for the operation and dealing with blood loss, however this does mean that I cannot be present at the birth of my son. Also we have been told that there may be a problem with breast feeding after the birth as well.

What are the risks associated with an Epidural and blood loss?

Tahnks
