Does anyone out there know of anything that could cause the iron saturation level which is supposed to be between 15 and 55 to drop to 3 .
We have already ruled out :internal bleeding,sickle cell,cancer.
Paient( ME) is a 44 yr old female who has nid diabetes,and fibro maligia.does not smoke.and who's father is greek and mother is irish,german,scottish and black.
paient is care taker of two elderly parents ,a handicapped daughter aged 19 and two young grandsons,and is married (high stress level).

any info you can give me would be very helpful as my physcian does not have any experience in this field and is look for answers .
