Question Fatigue in orthopedic patients with "low postoperative hemoglobin"

Our surgeons complain the fatigue in patients with postoperative hemoglobin of 8 to 10 mg/dl. They believe patients could be better mobilized with higher hemoglobin and order frequently 2 RBC's.
More - they say "the patient went immediatly (!) better".
Does somebody have suggestions how to avoid this fatigue and how to mobilize patients better. Usually our patients have regional anesthesias.
