What is the reason that recombinant Epoetin alfa (Aranesp or Procrit) contains albumin? Just trying to fix in my mind how that blood fraction benefits the process...


Also, what is the process of creating one of those products? Any more in-depth explanation other than "it comes from Chinese hamster ovary cells?" I can't find anything on the web that breaks it down or explains the process to me. Any links would be much appreciated!
