I have been informed that you can obtain albumin-free EPO (Eprex) from Canada, Europe or S. Africa by contacting a physician in one of those countries who is willing to write a Rx for the drug. (Canada may be your best choice as the family could drive or arrange the Rx through one of the druggist over the border.) One of the branch offices for Jehovah's Witnesses may be able to help you with the process. This also applies to the blood substitutes that are used in other countries. However, the family needs to understand they are responsible for the cost and postage.
