on call pager
Our Bloodless Program has really grown over the last three years. However, I am part-time and have been carrying a pager for 24/7 and not being paid. Recently, I really pushed the issue and told them I wanted help with the pager so I could get another part-time job. Now they have come back with paying me to carry the pager, or letting the night nursing supervisors handle the paperwork. I am stuck with a decision. I think having more people involved would be better for the program. However, the money is the issue. And, then there is the question, if the night nursing supervisors get in a bind, who are they going to call? Can some of you share with me what you are doing? Thanks. yvette bunch Spartanburg Regional, SC
