No blood heart surgery at UCSF

Hello, My name is DonnaJean, and I have a daughter who has Down Syndrome, is 28, and has had 4 no blood heart surgeries, and 1 no blood gastro-intestinal surgery. The first 4 heart surgeries were done when she was 5 months, 2 yrs, 4 yrs and 5 yrs old, at Stanford University. Her gastro-intestinal surgery was done when she was 19, and was done at UCSF.

She is now waiting to have more intensive heart surgery at UCSF, most likely in the month of May or June 2008. She will have a pacemaker inserted, and a pulmonary valve replacement, and one other procedure that I am not real clear about.

We are Jehovah's Witnesses. The Dr's are being somewhat co-operative so far.

I was just wondering if anyone else has had no blood heart surgery at UCSF, and what their experience was like.

Thank you for any feed back.
